Unwritten Page

This is my place
I lose myself here
This is my space
Where thoughts become unclear

This is my voice
That speaks someone else’s lines
This is my choice
Built from borrowed signs

On my desktop
Tabs I’ll never read
Projects half-stopped
Fruit from rotting seed

This is my path
I walked it standing still
This is my math
Equations I can’t fill

I had a spark
But kindled someone else’s flame
I left no mark
Can’t even sign my name

The world spins on
Indifferent to my weight
My chapter’s gone
Before I found the page

This is my room
Where ambition came to die
This is my bloom
A flower asking why

I could do more
But more became too late
I’ve kept the score
Of everything I’d waste

The void won’t judge
It simply doesn’t see
I hold no grudge
Against what I won’t be

Who counts the loss
Of things that never were?
I pay the cost
Of paths I didn’t stir
